Mr. Movie

'Enough Said': One of the year's best

Enough Said is James Gandolfini's last movie.

Two thoughts. First, if you're going to do a last movie, this is as good as they get. Second, his performance as a divorced sad sack giving love another chance is perfection and is an unhappy reminder of how much we're going to miss this talented, dynamic actor.

Gandolfini and Julia Louis-Dreyfus have exceptional chemistry in this Nicole Holofcener (Friends with Money) written and directed ditty. She's Eva and he's Albert. Eva is a massage professional who connects with him and his ex-wife at a party. The ex becomes a client, and Eva later learns they're connected. The ex, done by a wonderfully catty Catherine Keener, feeds her dirt on Albert, who doesn't know of the connection with the girlfriend and the ex.

Enough Said is a terrific, deep and exceptionally well-written romantic comedy. The performances are perfect, the premise a delight and this is one you definitely want to put on your movie-seeing schedule.
