Working Hypotheses for the Coyote Canyon Mammoth Site, 7 p.m., Mid-Columbia Libraries Kennewick Branch, 1620 S. Union St. Free. The site is three miles south of Kennewick. Results suggest that a mammoth was swept to its death by an Ice Age flood 17,500 years ago with its carcass coming to rest on the shoreline of temporary Lake Lewis. Subsequent Ice Age floods and wind-blown silt further buried the skeletal remains and yield evidence of local climatic and ecologic changes. Call 509-542-5531.
