Prosser plans Pokémon event Aug. 19

The city of Prosser is holding a Pokémon event Aug. 19 at City Park.

It’ll run from 4 to 7 p.m. and feature more than 15 active lures where Pokémon trainers can fill their Pokedex.

“The simple walking route takes participants on a tour of Prosser’s historic downtown and beautiful parks,” a new release said.

Families and friends will be able team up to compete in gym battles starting at 6 p.m. at Sylvan stage, with prizes awarded. Tables with trading cards will be set up at the city library for trading and old-fashioned battles, and at 7:30 p.m., a free screening of Pokémon 2000 is planned at the Princess Theatre.
