Stargazing event set Aug. 5 in Richland
The community is invited to a stargazing event Aug. 5 in Richland, organized by the Tri-City Astronomy Club.
The star party is at the Reach museum, 1943 Columbia Park Trail.
Sunset is at 8:20 p.m.
“Come a little early for the crescent moon, and see Mars and Saturn after sunset,” a news release said. If the sky is clear enough, people might be able to see star clusters and nebulae.
The International Space Station is expected to fly over at 8:49 and10:26 p.m., and stargazers may also see two bright Iridium flares.
The event is free.
