Creation Festival runs Aug. 4-6 in Kennewick
From Newsboys to Crowder, some of the biggest names in Christian music will be in the Tri-Cities this weekend for Creation Northwest.
The Christian music festival kicked off Aug. 4 and runs through Aug. 6 at the Benton County fairgrounds in Kennewick.
Along with a packed musical lineup, the event also includes speakers and other activities.
Tickets still are available.
Between 10,000 and 20,000 people are expected to attend the festival, which has the theme, “A Tribute to our Creator.”
“Our main goal is to give tribute to our creator. It’s groups of people coming together to worship, to celebrate and to share our faith together,” said Maria Hansen, a spokeswoman for the festival.
More than 80 bands and speakers are set to take the stage.
Musical headliners include Newsboys, For King & Country, Family Force 5 and Crowder.
At least a couple of Tri-Citians are set to perform as well.
Evan Egerer, a Pasco teacher, won a spot in the festival’s music tournament.
And Michael Tormanen is scheduled to lead worship and perform on the acoustic stage.
Activities for kids also are planned, from special entertainment acts to a petting zoo.
Tickets range from $59 for a single-day pass, to $110 for the entire event.
Camping and VIP packages also are available, and there’s a special rate for kids.
Children ages 5 and younger are admitted for free.
Creation is offering a special deal on single-day passes: if a person buys one for full price, his or her friends can get their single day passes for $30.
