Portland-based Trio Subtonic to perform July 22 in Prosser
The jazz group Trio Subtonic will perform July 22 at Brewminatti, 713 Sixth St., Prosser.
Based in Portland, the group “blends genre-bending funk with slow-burning underground soul,” a news release said.
Led by keyboardist Galen Clark, the trio also includes Bill Athens on bass and Russ Kleiner on drums.
“We’ve had such a fun time with our jazz series featuring Ben Macy and the Uptown Naturals, we decided we wanted to add a few more groups into the mix. Trio Subtonic takes a nice ‘populist’ approach to jazz. It’s almost jazz for people who haven’t decided whether or not they like jazz” said Marty Taylor, Brewminatti co-owner, in a statement. “We’re hoping we can continue to develop a jazz audience in our area. So come out and support it.”
Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance through therootscellar.com and at Brewminatti, and $15 the day of show.
