Bands bringing thunder to Clover Island

Clover Island Inn has a solution to the mid-week blues.

The Kennewick hotel’s seventh annual Thunder on the Island concert series runs Wednesday evenings from June 15 to Aug. 17.

The weekly concerts are free, with food and drinks available for purchase. Concert-goers are invited to bring their classic cars and motorcycles to show off, with VIP parking available.

Showtime is 6 p.m., and the music runs until 9 p.m. The series kicks off June 15 with rockers The Shades, and wraps up Aug. 17 with the Americana band Wasteland Kings.

The lineup also includes The Beatles cover band Abbey Road LIVE!, set to take the stage in July.

“I’m very happy with all the entertainment that we’ve selected,” said Mark Blotz, Clover Island Inn general manager. “It’s a nice mid-week break. We keep it family-friendly and keep it free.”

The concerts are for all ages, with a 21-and-older beer garden.

Clover Island Inn is at 435 Clover Island Drive.

▪  June 29: Country rock, bluegrass and blues from 3 Legged Dog.

▪  July 6: Music from The Beatles cover band Abbey Road LIVE!

▪  July 13: Country rock, classic country and rock ‘n’ roll from Stompin Ground.

▪  July 20: Rock music from Soundwall.

▪  July 27: Swampabilly blues from Junkyard Jane.

▪  Aug. 3: Rock music from Fallout.

▪  Aug. 10: Rockers 3rd Date will take the stage.

▪  Aug. 17: Americana music from Wasteland Kings.
