Tri ART for Giving to run April 29-May 21

The 2016 Tri ART for Giving will run April 29 through May 21.

The art exhibition, contest and fundraiser matches more than two dozen artists with different venues around the Tri-Cities.

“Over a three-week period, the public can visit the participating venues and vote for their favorite art piece. Cash prizes are awarded to first, second and third-place artists in both the ‘people’s choice’ and juried categories,” a news release said.

The idea is to showcase art and artists and “enrich the minds and the economy of our community,” the release said.

A kick-off event is from 6 to 9 p.m. April 29 at the Reach center, 1943 Columbia Park Trail, Richland.

A closing ceremony, including awards, is from 6 to 8 p.m. May 21 at the Uptown Theatre, 1300 Jadwin Ave., Richland.

Tickets are $20.
