Happy Orchestra to play April 29 in Richland

The acclaimed Seattle jazz group Happy Orchestra will perform April 29 at the Emerald of Siam, 1314 Jadwin Ave., Richland.

Showtime is 9 p.m. Cover is $10.

Produced by drummer Tarik Abouzied, Happy Orchestra is “a band that puts smiles on faces and lights fires under feet. Its members are drawn from some of the Northwest’s most highly regarded funk, jazz, and soul bands, including McTuff, Skerik’s Bandalabra, Richie Aldente and more,” a news release said.

The was nominated for 2015 Alternative Jazz Group of the Year by readers of Earshot Jazz, the release said.
