Benton City artist’s work on display at Reach center
The Reach museum has opened a new exhibit on Benton City, featuring 35 works by local artist Robert Dunlap.
He works with a variety of mediums, from acrylics to screen printing and collage. A series of hand-crafted books featuring additional works by Dunlap also will support the exhibit.
A South Dakota native and veteran of the Army Air Corps during World War II, Dunlap eventually made his way to Washington and spent years working in the Hanford area.
He retired in 1982 to pursue a full-time graphic design business, according to a Reach news release.
When it comes to art, he’s largely self-taught. He’s been living and painting in Benton City for more than 60 years, and “is an enthusiastic supporter of preserving the Kiona-Benton City area heritage through his painting and photography,” the release said.
“The Reach museum is appreciative of his allowing us to include some of his works in our exhibition,” the release said.
The museum is at 1943 Columbia Park Trail in Richland. Learn more at www.visitthereach.org.
