Tickets selling fast for Feb. 20 Craft Brew & Bacon Festival

It was so popular last year that it sold out a week in advance.

And tickets for this year’s Three Rivers Craft Brew & Bacon Festival are going fast.

Heather Breymeyer’s advice? “Buy early,” she said.

Breymeyer is coordinating the festival, which will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick.

It will feature craft beer, plus food, live music and other entertainment.

As of Monday afternoon, about 300 of 1,550 tickets were left.

More than 30 breweries from the Tri-Cities and around the Northwest will be on hand, serving up craft brews.

Some wine and hard cider also will be available for those attendees who want something different.

About 10 local restaurants also will be serving up bacon-inspired fare, and they’ll compete in a people’s choice contest to be named the Bacon Bite Grand Champion.

The champ will get a trophy and $1,000 from Hill Meats Co. in Pendleton.

The Knutzen Brothers and the Vaughn Jensen Band will perform, and the Tri-Cities Cancer Center is sponsoring a beer pong tournament as a fundraiser.

Tickets to the festival are $30 in advance, and — if any are left — $35 at the door.

The tickets include food samplings, plus a tasting glass and four drink tokens. Extra drink tokens will be sold for $1.50 a piece.

VIP tickets also are available for $75. They include a full-size glass with eight tokens, plus early admission and a T-shirt.

Breymeyer, director of sales for the convention center, said the festival taps into the growing popularity of microbrewing in the Tri-Cities.

“It’s been going on in Spokane and Yakima for a long time, and we’re just now getting growler houses and pour houses and that’s putting a new spin on it,” she said, adding that, “I would like to see us not just be wine county, but microbrew county.”

Advance tickets are available through the Toyota Center box office and Ticketmaster. Those bought through the box office avoid service fees.

The Three Rivers Convention Center is at 7016 W. Grandridge Blvd.
