Mid-Columbia Mastersingers, Symphony team up for Feb. 13 fundraiser
The Mid-Columbia Mastersingers and the Mid-Columbia Symphony are teaming up for a joint fundraiser called Bacchanalia XVI.
The bash, in the tradition of Greco-Roman bacchanals, is at 6 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Three Rivers Convention Center, 7016 W. Grandridge Blvd., Kennewick.
Tickets start at $125 and include all the evening’s activities. They’re available at www.biddingforgood.com/mcaf.
The event will feature all-you-can-eat hors d’oeuvres and carving stations, wine and other libations, online and live auctions, a DJ, dancing and a costume contest.
Guests should “come dressed as you see fit for a fundraising gala, but we strongly encourage Greco-Roman options of the era,” organizers said, including Roman centurion or senator, gladiator or Amazon, Greek philosopher or poet, Greek or Roman deity, mythical creature or mythical beast.
The event also will include a performance of P.D.Q. Bach’s comic oratorio Oedipus Tex, starring Jeremy Irland, Paris Rodgers, Erin Patterson, Karl Hedlund and Nicholas Wallin as the conductor
