Hanford High presents ‘Fight Night’ on Nov. 6-7 in Richland
Swords. Daggers. Fists.
Students at Hanford High School in Richland don’t bust out those weapons too often.
But a handful of them will get the chance to Nov. 6-7 — on stage, that is.
The school is presenting Fight Night, a drama production that features scenes from Shakespeare culminating in stage combat.
Showtime is 7:30 p.m. both nights. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
They’re available at the door; the box office opens an hour ahead of each show.
The students worked under director Anna Newbury, an accomplished fight choreographer.
The performances aren’t on the school’s main stage, but in the smaller black box theater. In that more intimate setting, “the scenes take place right in front of you. It incorporates the audience into it. That makes it very unique,” said Shawna Holland, a parent who’s helping with publicity for the show.
Her daughter, Whitney Holland, is taking part, along with fellow students Hannah Fewel, Joshua Smith, Shane Morrow, Gabi VanDyke, Vance Alexander, Hailey Howard, Reilly Smith, Caleb McDuff and Adam Pilger.
Hanford High is at 450 Hanford St.
