Tri-City area artists open their studios Nov. 14-15 for annual event
People often don’t get to view an artist’s work until it is finished and displayed in a gallery.
But an event planned this month will let the public in a bit earlier in the process.
The 12th annual Tri-City Artists’ Open Studio Tour runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 14-15.
It’s free and includes self-guided tours of the working studios of 11 artists, who will be on hand to answer questions and may be creating pieces as the visitors come through.
“The arts are vital to a community. This is a way people can see the artist in their actual setting and see how they work,” said Jan Nilsson, a painter who’s participating in the event.
A map and driving directions are available at www.tricityartistsopenstudiotour.com.
This year’s Open Studio Tour features some veterans and a pair of artists new to the event. They are watercolor painter Suzi Vitulli and textile artist Katherine Sylvan.
