Barnes & Noble to hold Safe Harbor fundraiser Sept. 12

Barnes & Noble is holding a fundraiser Sept. 12 for Safe Harbor Support Center.

Customers should mention the Kennewick nonprofit at the register. A portion of sales will go to the organization.

A special story and activity time is planned at 11 a.m. centered on Anna Dewdney’s book Llama Llama Gram and Grandpa.

Local author Torena O’Rorke also will sign copies of the first two books in her new Astrology Mystery series at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. They’re called The Gemini Girl Murders and The Killer of Cancer Rising. The series is based on O’Rorke’s experience working in the juvenile justice system, and proceeds go to Safe Harbor and to end human trafficking.

Another local author, E.L. Irwin, also will sign copies of her new romance novel Out of the Blue from 1 to 3 p.m.

The events are free and open to the public.

Barnes & Noble is at the Columbia Center mall.
