Basketball event to close down part of GWay in Richland all weekend

A section of George Washington Way in the heart of Richland will close for much of the weekend to accommodate the 9th annual See3Slam basketball tournament.

George Washington Way will close between Newton and Knight streets from 6 p.m., Friday, July 10, to 7 p.m., Sunday, July 12.

Local business access remains available from Swift Boulevard to Newton Street.

The city encourages motorists to plan alternate routes, follow posted detours and use caution near the event.

See3Slam is a 3-on-3 basketball tournament for players of all ages. It is organized by Tri-Cities SunRise Rotary, with proceeds benefiting local charities.

The weekend features food vendors, live entertainment, exhibition games and center court competitions.
