Soar over half million vibrant Tri-Cities tulips with drone video
Warmer spring temperatures has brought to life a half million tulip bulbs planted across eight acres in the Tri-Cities’ backyard.
Local nature lovers won’t have to travel 4 1/2 hours for a tulip festival across the state to the Skagit Valley. There’s one right here in Tri-Cities at Middleton Farms in Pasco.
“Tulips are a weather dependent crop, so peak blooms can be fleeting. Don’t wait too long because the most beautiful week can go fast,” say Middleton festival organizers.
When and where is the tulip festival?
Middleton Farms holds a tulip festival during the month of April.
The farm at 1050 Pasco-Kahlotus Road in Pasco hosts numerous attractions throughout the year. Farm season kicks off with Middleton’s Tulip Festival, which ends May 2.
The Pasco farm is decorated with the “perfect spring photo” in mind, with places to sit, photo frames and vintage trucks throughout the tulip fields, organizers said.
Middleton Farms has plenty of activities available for visitors, though there are limited options during the week, including duck races, giant slides, a ropes course, goat palace and gemstone mining.
On Friday through Sunday, there also are grain hoops, a hay ride, apple blasters and paintball.
Can I pick my own tulips?
This year, Middleton Farms is introducing a U-pick area where you can select favorite flowers to take home.
Do not take flowers from outside the designated U-pick area.
How much are tickets?
The festival is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are available at the gate or online for a discount.
Tickets range from about $14 to $22 at the gate. There are discounts for seniors and military members. Kids younger than 3 get in for free.
On April 25, Middleton Farms hosts a dog day, and you can bring your dog for an additional $10.
