Frighteningly awesome Halloween events in Tri-Cities this weekend

Halloween is Sunday but there’s still plenty of things to do to get you in the spirit of the haunting holiday.

Haunted walk

The Field of Screams haunted walk at Red Dot Paintball is planned Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Richland.

The hour-long walk packed with scares, ranging from frightening clowns to a serial killer’s workshop and the zombie hunt thrill ride.

Reservations are available online from 6:45 p.m. to midnight or call 509-820-3730. , 3430 Beardsley Road. Cost is $35 plus tax for the full walk (ages 13+) or just the thrill ride for ages 5+ for $20 plus tax.

Tunnel of Terror

A spooky Tunnel of Terror Car Wash is planned again at The Autobahn car washes in Richland and Kennewick on Friday and Saturday nights.

Hours are 6:30-10 p.m. but the $25 tickets are limited and must be bought in advance. Their new location is 1225 Guyer Ave. (formerly Friends Car Wash) off George Washington Way. The other is on Clearwater Avenue.

Trunk or Treat

City of Pasco Parks and Rec plans its 2nd Annual Drive-Thru Trunk or Treat on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gesa Stadium’s parking lot, 6200 Burden Blvd. It’s sponsored by Gesa credit union, the city and local businesses.

LIFECHURCH7 in Richland is doing its annual Trunk or Treat event with 20+ decorated trunks, food, music and more 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. It will be in the main parking lot 1110 Stevens Dr.

Drive-in movie

The WSU Tri-Cities Student Entertainment Board is hosting the first annual Trunk-or-Treat Drive-In Movie Night with a showing of Hocus Pocus on Friday, Oct. 29 at the Collaboration Hall parking lot.The trunk-or-treat event is 5:30-7 p.m., followed by the movie at 7 p.m.

Trick or Treat

Downtown Kennewick businesses will be handing out candy to children in costume from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, during its Halloween Trick or Treat, Safe Street event. It’s part of their last Alfresco Saturday of 2021. The event can draw 2,000 to 3,000 kids and families.

The free annual 2021 Safe Treat Street event is 4-7 p.m. near the bandshell on the east end of Columbia Park in Kennewick on Sunday Oct. 31. Sponsors include Tri-Cities Circle K locations , 94.9 The Wolf radio station and other area businesses.

Corn Mazes and more

The County Mercantile, seven miles north of Pasco on Highway 395, is open Friday through Sunday with many activities, ranging from a corn maze, straw bale pyramids, corn hole toss, tunnel slide, giant jumping pillow, barnyard basketball, pumpkin patch and hayrides. Hours are 3-7 p.m Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $10.95 Friday and $11.95 Saturday and Sunday. Ages 2 and under are free, and discounts for veterans. Carnival rides also are available with individual tickets and all-day arm bands.

Middleton Six Sons Farms carved an eight-acre “Mandalorian” corn maze complete with Baby Yoda for its annual fall festival at 1050 Pasco-Kahlotus Road in Pasco. The festival runs through Oct. 31 and has hay rides, pumpkin patch, grain train, barrel train, slides, ball pits and more. Food, drinks and homemade cider and donuts are available for purchase. Admission is $12.95 Friday and $13.95 Saturday and Sunday for those 3 and older. Buying at the gate rather than on Middleton’s ticketing site is $2 more. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Decorated houses

The Tri-Cities Halloween Light Show website and Facebook page will guide you to a scary homes decorated throughout the Tri-Cities.

One display at 2000 Orchard Way near Meadow Springs features towering 12-foot skeletons with blinking eyes, a giant spiderweb, ghouls, a bony graveyard to radioactive creatures.
