Tri-City writer releases new children’s book

Tri-City writer Kathi Denn will sign copies of her new children’s book from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Adventures Underground in Richland.

Denn, who works as a paraeducator in Kennewick, penned the book, “Birthday Balloons for Grandpa,” to help kids cope with loss.

It centers on a little boy who’s dealing with the death of his grandpa. Denn based the story on her own son’s bond with her father.

The book is available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Ingram Spark and Smashwords.
