Acclaimed Shakespearian actor to hold free workshop Friday in Pasco

A free acting workshop featuring an acclaimed Shakespearian performer is Friday at Columbia Basin College in Pasco.

The workshop, led by Michael Goodfriend of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the CBC Theatre.

The public is welcome. Goodfriend will focus on characterization, and participants should prepare a monologue or two, a news release said.

Goodfriend is an actor, writer, producer and member of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival acting company. He’s played numerous roles in various productions for the company, and he’s developing the role of Lt. Gerald Smith for the world premiere of The Way the Mountain Moved this summer, the release said.

He’s also performed around the U.S. and world. He holds a master of fine arts from Yale School of Drama and studied acting at the British American Drama Academy in England and with Larry Moss in Los Angeles, the release said.
