Mid-Columbia Mastersingers to celebrate African-American composers
Mid-Columbia Mastersingers’ next concert will celebrate the legacy of African-American composers.
Called O Black and Unknown Bards, “the program will honor the individuality, artistry, genius and humanity of these composers, and while the music performed will be in the choral tradition, the audience will hear the roots and influence of ragtime, gospel and jazz,” a news release said.
Associate Conductor Reginald Unterseher will lead the concert. The Mid-Columbia Boys’ Choir, under the direction of Kurtis McFadden and JoLyn Glenn, also will take the stage.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9-10 and 3 p.m. Feb. 11 at GracePoint Church in Pasco.
Tickets are $25 for adults and free for K-12 students. A group rate is available and admission is free for first-time Mastersingers attendees.
For tickets, go to mcmastersingers.org or call 509-460-1766.
