Mid-Columbia Musical Theatre looking for Jets and Sharks

Mid-Columbia Musical Theatre is looking for some Jets and Sharks.

Auditions for the company’s upcoming production of West Side Story are at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 17 in Richland.

Actors will be asked to sing, dance and read from the script. They should wear comfortable clothing and shoes. For details on how to prepare, go to mcmt.show/west-side-story.

Auditions for adult non-singing roles are 4:30 p.m. Feb. 18.

West Side Story is a classic of American theater — a Romeo and Juliet-style love story set against against the backdrop of gang violence in New York.

Mid-Columbia Musical Theatre is looking for a diverse group of actors to bring the story to life. Many of the main characters are Puerto Rican.

Rehearsals start in April and performances are in late June at the Columbia Park bandshell in Kennewick.

Auditions are at Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet and Music, 21 Aaron Drive.
