Popular YA novelist from Tri-Cities to sign books Dec. 19 in Kennewick

Tri-City author Stephen Wallenfels is celebrating the release of his second novel with a book signing at Barnes & Noble in Kennewick.

Wallenfels will be at the Columbia Center mall bookstore from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 19.

The novel, Bad Call, is published by Disney/Hyperion. It’s a YA survival/adventure tale that centers on a group of friends who set out on an ill-fated camping trip in the Yosemite wilderness.

Kirkus Review called it “a gripping, well-paced thriller that strikes a menacing tone, this will appeal to those looking for a good scare.”

Wallenfels’ first novel, the YA sci-fi thriller POD, was published by Penguin/ACE 2012 and has been translated into multiple languages.

His next book, the YA thriller Deadfall, comes out through Disney in 2018-19.
