Holiday concerts planned in Richland, Kennewick schools

Holiday concerts are planned in Richland and Kennewick schools.

Here’s a look at some of the offerings:

Richland

Hanford High School’s choral department is holding a Choral Extravaganza at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at the school.

The concert will feature the school’s Varsity Chorale and Show Choir, plus the Leona Libby Middle School Glee Club.

Admission is free, with donations accepted.

Kennewick

▪  Park Middle School plans a band concert at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in the auditorium at Kennewick High School.

▪  Cottonwood Elementary’s Mojo Marimba ensembles will perform at 7 p.m. Dec. 5 on the Macy’s stage at the Columbia Center Mall.

▪  On Dec. 7, several schools have musical programs. Desert Hills Middle School’s orchestra and Highlands Middle School’s band both will perform at 6 p.m. at their respective schools.

Amistad and Edison elementary schools and the Park Middle School orchestra all have concerts at 6:30 p.m. at their schools.

Vista Elementary’s holiday program is 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Kennewick High.

Canyon View Elementary’s winter program is at 7 p.m. Dec. 7, and Kamiakin High School’s jazz ensemble will perform at 7 p.m. Both concerts are at the respective schools.

▪  Desert Hills’ concert choir has a 6 p.m. concert Dec. 11 in the auditorium at Kamiakin High, and Cascade Elementary’s winter program is at 6:30 p.m. at Cascade.

▪  On Dec. 12, Sunset View Elementary has a concert at 6 p.m., Chinook Middle School has a winter orchestra concert at 6:30 p.m., and Kennewick High’s band, choir and orchestra will perform at 7 p.m. All concerts are at the schools.

▪  On Dec. 14, concerts are at 6 p.m. at Desert Hills featuring the school’s band; 6 p.m. at Highlands featuring the school’s orchestra; 6:30 p.m. at Amistad featuring the marimba group and orchestra; 6:30 p.m. at Chinook featuring the band; and 7 p.m. at Canyon View featuring the marimba group and orchestra.

Washington Elementary’s winter program is at 6:30 p.m. at Kennewick High.

▪  Kamiakin High School’s winter holiday concert featuring band and choir students is at 7 p.m. Dec. 18 at the school.

▪  On Dec. 19, concerts are at 6:30 p.m. at Chinook featuring the choir; 6:30 p.m. at Cottonwood featuring Mojo Marimba ensembles and Badger Orchestra; 6:30 p.m. at Sage Crest; 7 p.m. at Kamiakin featuring orchestra and guitar ensembles; and 7 p.m. at Southridge.
