TEDxRichland planned Sept. 16 at Uptown Theatre

TEDxRichland 2017 is coming up this weekend at the Uptown Theatre.

The event is Sept. 16. Tickets are $25 and are available at tedxrichland.com.

TEDxRichland will feature live talks, plus some pre-recorded TED videos, art installations, a documentary screening, live performances, live tech and science demonstrations and more. Breakfast, lunch and a cocktail hour also are included.

The theme is “Foundational Truths.”

TED stands for “Technology, Entertainment, Design.” It’s a nonprofit devoted to “ideas worth spreading.”

TED is perhaps best known for TED Talks, which are succinct, thought-provoking talks on a variety of topics. TEDx conferences — like TEDxRichland— are local, self-organized events “that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.”
