Terrorism expert with Tri-City roots to speak, sign books Sept. 9
A terrorism expert with Tri-City roots will speak and sign copies of his new book on Sept. 9 in Kennewick.
Dave Admire, a retired King County District Court judge and criminal justice professor, will speak on “Understanding Terrorism: Its Cause and Effect” at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 9 at the Bookworm. He’ll then sign copies of his new novel, Terror In Paris, starting at 12:30 p.m. at the bookstore.
Admire, who graduated from Pasco High School and Columbia Basin College before going onto the University of Washington, taught classes on terrorism for several years.
“To be able to truly understand an act of terrorism, one must comprehend: why people turn to terrorism to accomplish their goals, the different types of terrorism in the world today, the methods of terrorism people adopt to accomplish their goals and the difficulties inherent in defeating terrorism,” he said in a news release.
His novel centers on a group of American professors and students caught up in a terrorist attack while studying abroad in Paris.
The Bookworm is at 731 N. Columbia Center Blvd., Suite 102.
