Meeting on new statewide arts program set Sept. 8 in Kennewick
A public meeting to discuss cultural traditions in the Tri-Cities and state, and to learn about a new statewide folklife and traditional arts program, is set for 10 a.m. Sept. 8 in Kennewick.
Feedback from the session will be used as state art and humanities leaders form the new Center for Washington Cultural Traditions, a partnership between Humanities Washington and the state arts commission.
“The center will support tradition bearers throughout the state, interpret the state’s rich cultural heritage, conduct meaningful research and create a range of innovative media and programming,” a news release said.
The meeting is open to the public. Registration isn’t required.
