The Richland Players present ‘Room Service’

The Richland Players’ production of the slapstick comedy Room Service opens Sept. 1.

Performances are at 8 p.m. Sept. 1-2, 8-9 and 15-16 and at 2 p.m. Sept. 11 and 17 at the Players theater, 608 The Parkway.

James Callaghan is directing the play by Allen Boretz and John Murray. It debuted in 1937 and inspired the Marx Brothers movie of the same name.

A “frenetically paced farce,” Room Service centers on Gordon Miller, an unsuccessful theater producer trying to stage a hit, a news release said.

“In a world plagued by so much seriousness, Room Service serves up a frantic remedy of side-splitting frivolous laughter,” it said.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students, seniors and military service members.
