Seats available on Mid-Columbia geology tour, hike

The Reach museum in Richland still has openings for its Aug. 26 geology tour.

The half-day tour, led by geologist and hydrogeologist George Last, features exposures of the massive Columbia River basalts, ancestral Yakima River deposits and Ice Age Flood deposits.

The tour includes a 1.3-mile hike along the Yakima River bluffs, with some rough terrain and steep slopes.

Deadline to register is Aug. 21. Cost is $76.
