The popular Prosser Beer & Whiskey Festival is back this year — and it’s bigger than ever.

Thirty breweries and distilleries from around the Northwest will be on hand, more than double last year’s number.

Food vendors, a cigar lounge and live music also are planned.

The festival runs 5 to 10 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Prosser Wine and Food Park, 2880 Lee Road.

“We got a really big jump in participation from last year. I think it’s going to be fun for the attendees to have so much variety,” said Larelle Michener, executive director of the Prosser Chamber of Commerce, which puts on the event.

Tickets are on sale now. General admission is $40 and includes entrance, a logo glass and all beer and liquor tasting for the evening.

VIP tickets are available until Aug. 21; they include early entrance with an hour of exclusive VIP tasting, an event glass, a T-shirt and swag bag, plus access to the VIP lounge.

Local breweries, from Bombing Range and White Bluffs to Whitstran and Snipes Mountain, will be represented. So will beer and spirit makers from around the state and Northwest.

“You’re going to find things you can’t just (pick up) at the grocery store,” Michener said.

More than a dozen food vendors will serve up a variety of fare.

The event is outdoors. People should bring lawn chairs and “come have fun,” Michener said.

Shuttle service to and from Prosser lodging locations will be available.

Tickets to the festival are available at prosserbeerandwhiskey.com, at White Bluffs and Bombing Range breweries in Richland, by calling 509-786-3177 and at the gate.

VIP tickets are only available in advance.
