Spots still available on upcoming tours through Reach center in Richland

Spots still are available on some upcoming tours through the Reach center in Richland.

▪ A tour called, “Coyote Canyon Mammoth Dig and Ice Age Floods Features of Benton and Walla Walla Counties,” is set Aug. 19.

Cost is $87. The full-day tour is led by Gary Kleinknecht, an Ice Age floods expert and education director for the mammoth site.

Deadline to register is Aug. 14.

▪ A geology tour is planned Aug. 26. Cost is $76.

Geologist George Last will lead the half-day tour, which will include “exposures of the massive Columbia River basalts and their structural deformation, ancestral Yakima River deposits and Ice Age Flood deposits,” a news release said.

Deadline to register is Aug. 21.
