Live Cinema series continues in Walla Walla with the Royal Opera’s ‘Otello’
Gesa Power House Theatre’s Live Cinema series continues with the Royal Opera’s Otello on Aug. 2.
Showtime is 6 p.m. The opera by Verdi is based on Shakespeare’s famous tragedy.
The Royal Opera production features tenor Jonas Kaufmann in the title role, with soprano Maria Agresta as Desdemona and baritone Ludovic Tézier as Iago.
The Olivier Award-winning Keith Warner is directing.
The screening runs about 3 hours 15 minutes, including an intermission and a 15-minute introduction. It’s performed in Italian with English subtitles.
The Live Cinema series features productions by the Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Ballet and Royal Opera that are filmed live and rebroadcast.
