Prosser woman lands book deal, debut novel set for August release

A Prosser woman is releasing her debut young adult thriller in August.

Jessica Hoefer, who writes under the name Jessica Kapp, landed a deal with Diversion Books in New York. Her novel, Body Parts, is due out Aug. 15 and centers on a teen orphan who fights back after discovering she’s been raised for body parts.

Barnes & Noble in Kennewick is hosting a launch party in Prosser on Aug. 19 to celebrate the release. It’s from 3 to 5 p.m. at Jeremy’s 1896 Public House, 1232 Wine Country Road. The public is invited.

Kapp will read from her book and sign copies. Books will be available for purchase.

An audio version of Body Parts is being released through Audible in conjunction with the paperback and e-book editions.

Kapp will take off on a library tour throughout the Northwest this fall, including stopping at the Kennewick Barnes & Noble’s Teen Reading Festival in September.
