Why 'Outlast: The Jungle' Winners Haven't Spoken to Their Voted-Out Team Member

Multiple teams made the hard decision to vote out someone on their team on Outlast: The Jungle. It's tough to watch, but even tougher when it happens closer to the finish line and the $1 million prize.

The winners were thrilled to earn that prize. But they revealed that they haven't smoothed things over with the last team member they pushed out.

Spoiler alert for the finale of Outlast: The Jungle!

Who Was Voted Out in the 'Outlast: The Jungle' Finale?

Teams voted out a member in exchange for supplies throughout the Netflix show. However, the finale had a heartbreaking vote that didn't gain a resource for the team.

Episode 8 showed Team Alpha and Team Bravo racing through the Amazon jungle to the finish line for the $1 million. Leiya Pillitteri left Team Charlie and joined Team Alpha which had Nikki Hru and Maddy Jones as the remaining members.

Nikki and Maddy started having doubts about the makeup artist. She struggled to make a fire, which was the first step of the semifinal contest. Leiya panicked, and Nikki worked hard to get her to focus. They knocked Team Charlie out of the finals.

Team Bravo sabotaged Leiya beforehand by taking her boots. So she was slower during the jungle race. Nikki repeatedly yelled at her to keep up since Team Bravo was on their tail. Nikki decided that night to cut Leiya loose, so it wouldn't cost them the $1 million.

They were emotional, but their decisions paid off. Nikki and Maddy won the race against Abby Chu and Pharaoh Gayles of Bravo.

Nikki and Maddy Haven't Spoken to Leiya After Winning

Nikki and Maddy spoke to Entertainment Weekly about life after the Netflix show. They revealed if they spoke to Leiya after the emotional decision. "I have not," Nikki said. "I would love to."

Maddy gave her reason for not reaching out. "I would love to, because there's no hard feelings, but I truly feel like if the roles had been reversed, I probably would feel slighted by us, I'm just trying to give her space," the photographer said.

"If she wants to reach out, I hope she knows there's no hard feelings, and I wish her the best, and I have the utmost respect for her and the game, because she did make it that far and to make it that far without giving up says a lot," she continued.

Nikki claimed cutting Leiya was less about the prize money and more about her loyalty to Maddy. "It was a question of whether or not I was willing to lose it for Maddy," the actress explained. "I didn't feel like Leiya could keep up, and I wasn't willing to make that sacrifice for myself or for Maddy after everything we'd gone through."
