Should You Pull For SSR Air Groove (Power) Support Card In Umamusume Pretty Derby?

Air Groove finally debuts her very first SSR support card in Umamusume! Starting June 18, SSR Air Groove (Power) is featured in a limited-time support card banner, alongside Air Shakur's debut banner. Let's take a closer look at the card's stats, skills, in-game performance, and overall meta relevance in Trackblazer and beyond.

SSR Air Groove (Power) Stats And Skills

SSR Air Groove debuts as a strong Power card with only a few weaknesses. At max level (MLB), the card grants +1 bonus to Stamina, Power, and Skill Points for every Power training with it, as well as 65 Specialty Priority to increase chances of landing on the Power facility. Its 10% Race Bonus also benefits Trackblazer runs, serving as a strong option when training for the upcoming Cancer and Leo Cups.

Featured Gold SkillEffect

Lie in Wait

Recover endurance when positioned toward the back upon approaching mid-race. (Late Surger)

[Lie in Wait] is a strong Late Surger recovery skill that can be used for relatively long tracks (>2400m) such as the Japanese Derby and Arima Kinen. However, a strong stamina card with a gold recovery skill, such as SSR Super Creek or Mejiro McQueen, is still preferred for very long tracks (>3000m) such as Kikuka Sho and Tenno Sho Spring.

Event SkillsEffect

When positioned in the midpack during the second half of the race, slightly increase velocity and very minimally increase acceleration. (Late Surger)

Go with the Flow

Moderately increase navigation late-race.

Flustered End Closers

Should You Pull Analysis

SSR Air Groove (Power)

Strengths

  • Strong overall stats
  • Viable for Trackblazer
  • Grants Power, Stamina, and Skill Point Bonus

Weaknesses

  • Lacks strong speed skills
  • Niche gold skill reduces overall meta value
  • Zero Training Effectiveness means it is terrible as a solo/roaming card

SSR Air Groove is a well-rounded Power card but lacks any Training Effectiveness to solidify its role for generic meta use. Despite the drawback, its high Specialty Priority, paired with a suite of training bonuses, makes it easy to achieve strong, consistent results from Power training.

[Lie in Wait] as this card's featured gold skill has niche applications and only matters for suitable tracks where high endurance is required. This poses an opportunity cost of alternatively bringing a Power card with a gold speed skill, such as SSR Yaeno Muteki with [It's On!], or SSR El Condor Pasa with [Killer Tunes].

Rating

SSR Air Groove - 4 / 5

F2P Meta Value - Moderate
