Watch: Katy Perry wants to 'Watch It Burn' in teaser for new song
June 17 (UPI) -- Katy Perry is teasing her new single..
The singer-songwriter, 41, shared a preview of her song "Let It Burn" on Tuesday.
In a video on Instagram, Perry sings while wielding a baseball bat and wearing a jumpsuit at what appears to be a rage room, a place where people can let emotions out by smashing and destroying items.
"You know I gave and I gave / Now I'm giving up / There's nothing more you can take / Don't wanna cause a scene / But give me the gasoline / Tonight's the night / I light a match," she sings.
In an interview with Justin Tranter on the UnFamous podcast, Perry said "Light About Match" is a reflection on her "tough" past year and about wrestling with her "darkness."
"I have not given myself permission to be angry my whole life," she added. "Over things where I should be [expletive] angry about."
"Watch It Burn," set for release June 26, will mark Perry's first new music of 2026. She last released the single "Bandaids" in November.
Earlier this month, Perry made her red carpet debut as a couple with her new boyfriend, former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, at the Tribeca Film Festival. Perry split from her longtime partner, actor Orlando Bloom, last year.
