Christopher Jackson Set for Broadway Return to ‘Hamilton' This Fall

Christopher Jackson, who originally played George Washington in the Tony-winning musical, will be returning to "Hamilton" this fall to reprise his role.

His run will span from September 8, 2026, to January 3, 2027, at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.

"Returning to Hamilton as George Washington is a deeply meaningful homecoming," Jackson said in a statement, per Playbill. "This show changed my life, and it remains one of the great honors of my career to be part of telling this story. To step back into this room, with this company and this audience, is something I will never take for granted."

"Lin-Manuel wrote George Washington with Chris' gorgeous voice and musicality in his head," Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller added. "How lucky are we that we get to experience his George Washington one last time?"



This comes after Leslie Odom Jr. returned as Aaron Burr in the hit show from September 9 to November 26, 2025.

Jackson was part of the original cast when the show began its Off-Broadway run in 2015, and continued when the show moved to the Richard Rodgers Theatre in August that same year. He left the show in November 2016.

But Jackson added that after the show's 10th anniversary, he was itching to return.

And fans can't wait to see him back in this role!
