Gloria Estefan Steps Out With Her Tattooed Daughter-and Everyone Is Noticing the Family Resemblance
Gloria Estefan and her daughter, Emily Estefan, are the ultimate red carpet duo.
Gloria, 68, is a legendary Cuban-American music icon with five Grammys to her name. She skyrocketed to fame in the '80s alongside her band, Miami Sound Machine, with hit songs like "Conga" and "The Rhythm is Gonna Get You." Also known for her illustrious solo career, Estefan continues to release new albums. But in a new red carpet appearance alongside her musician daughter, Emily Estefan, it's safe to say the apple didn't fall far from the tree. The duo hit the Basura World Premiere Opening Night Red Carpet Event at Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, and Emily is a dead ringer for her talented mom. The only difference is Emily's arm full of tattoos!
Emily Estefan is a Rising Music Star
Emily, 31, may be the daughter of Gloria, but she's a rising music star in her own right. A graduate of Boston's Berklee College of Music, Emily is known as a vocalist and instrumentalist.

Gloria and Emily Scored a New Musical Together
Emiy and Gloria worked to write the music and lyrics for Basura: A New Musical, which runs from May 30 to July 12. Based on the true story of Paraguay's Recycled Orchestra, Basura tells the story of when "young artists turn scrap material into instruments and music into possibilities." It was inspired by the award-winning documentary "Landfill Orchestra."
"This is a story that has been close to my heart for several years since I first encountered the determination and ingenuity of the young people of Paraguay's Recycled Orchestra," Gloria Estefan said in a statement, Playbill reported. "Emily and I are thrilled for our music to be a part of telling their story in this original musical. We could not be more excited for Basura to begin its theatrical life in a city as influential and diverse as Atlanta with a theatre as consequential as the Alliance."
