Oner Confirms Decision on Appeal
The final candidate list for South Korea's 2026 Asian Games League of Legends team was revealed earlier this month. Oner became one of the most discussed names following several notable exclusions in the League of Legends community.
Many expected the T1 jungler to submit an official appeal before the May 28 deadline.
However, Oner confirmed he will not proceed with the process. He said he made the decision shortly after the roster announcement. He also informed his teammates, coaching staff, and agency soon after.
Oner added that people around him encouraged him to reconsider and suggested he take more time or file an objection. Despite this, he decided not to appeal because it did not feel right personally.
Oner Explains Communication With Fans
Oner said he wanted fans to hear the decision directly from him. He explained why he initially considered addressing it during T1 livestreams.
He planned to mention it during broadcasts on May 20 and 21. However, he stepped back after seeing strong fan support during discussions.
Oner thanked supporters and praised them for staying respectful during conversations around national team selection. He said he never felt fans were targeting him or other players.
Oner Supports Selected Players
Oner also spoke about Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu, describing him as an excellent player. He encouraged fans to support the final candidates for the 2026 Asian Games.
Previously, Oner said he wanted to earn a national team spot through performance and support. Despite missing the candidate list, he still backed the selected players ahead of the event.
