'80s Heavy Metal Band, Once Split for 10 Years, Announces Exciting News

Death Angel, a heavy thrash metal band, is celebrating a major milestone in their music career.

The Filipino-American band, known for their infectious, high-octane sound, announced the 10th anniversary of their eighth studio album.

In an Instagram post, the five-piece group is commemorating the release of The Evil Divide by unveiling a special vinyl edition of the album.

Death Angel not only delivered a surprising announcement but also gave fans a special treat by adding a bonus song.

"TODAY is the 10th Anniversary of The Evil Divide. The Evil Divide is BACK ON VINYL with a 10th anniversary edition. The new 2LP and digital versions include bonus cover-track "Wasteland" (original by The Mission UK). This is the first time the track will be available on a US physical release and digitally worldwide!" the caption reads .

The release is scheduled to arrive on July 24 under Nuclear Blast Records.

The thrash metal band from Daly City, California, disbanded in 1991 following a bus crash accident in Arizona in 1990.

Due to the severity of the incident, drummer Andy Galeon needed more time to recover. This led to the band's temporary hiatus, compounded by their personal issues.

Ten years later, the band officially reunited at the benefit concert Thrash of the Titans for Testament's Chuck Billy.

The crowd's overwhelming response pushed the band to reunite permanently and tour together again.

"At that point, we again, we were trying to take that innocent approach, where we weren't trying to do anything," guitarist Rob Cavestany told Sebastiano Mereu of From Hero To Zero. "We were playing together; we weren't even intending to last very long. We just thought we would do a tour or something, like a reunion tour and leave it at that. We started writing music little by little, just naturally, then Nuclear Blast came along and started to tell us, 'Let's do it. Come alive again and make music.' Little by little, we got the idea we should jump back in. So, we signed to Nuclear Blast, and there began this era of the band, or at least the next era of the band."

Currently, Death Angel is on its U.S. spring tour, which kicked off on May 1 and will conclude on June 21. The band is performing in major cities in Arizona, Oklahoma, New Jersey, Florida and more along with special guests Vio-lence and Incite on selected dates.
