Jeff Probst Makes Major Blunder During Live ‘Survivor 50' Finale

Survivor just hosted its first live finale in 6 years-and host Jeff Probst marked the occasion by making a huge blunder live on air.

During the Wednesday, May 20 live Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans finale, Aubry Bracco won the final immunity challenge of the season and chose to send Rizo Velovic and Jonathan Young to the final four fire-making competition.

After Bracco revealed who'd she be sending into the duel, the broadcast cut to Probst onstage in front of a live studio audience in Los Angeles. He then brought out Velovic and revealed that he was the final person eliminated from the season, even though fans hadn't watched Young beat him yet.

After Probst announced that Velovic was the final member of the season 50 jury, he noticed confused reactions-including loud gasps from the audience-before fan-favorite Cirie Fields and Velovic told him the fire-making competition hadn't been aired.

"I'm not even sure what's happened," Probst said before the episode cut to commercial.

Despite the blunder, Probst had a good sense of humor about the ordeal when the finale returned from commercial break. When the cameras came back up, the audience yelled, "We love you, Jeff!" to which Probst responded, "I love live television."

"We were supposed to show you fire-making, and then have the loser of fire-making, Rizo, come out and talk about how charming he is, and if how he had practiced fire-making, maybe he would have won, he continued. "Instead, we did a Survivor twist. It's the last twist of the season. Now, we're gonna watch Rizo lose."

When the spoiled fire-making competition unfolded on screen, audience members in the studio chanted Velovic's name.
