‘Days of Our Lives' Recasts Legacy Kiriakis Role With a Viral Child Prodigy
Days of Our Lives is recasting a legacy role with a new young actress set to make her debut very soon.
Actress Angelica Nero is stepping into the role of Victoria Kiriakis, the daughter of Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) and Xander Kirakis (Paul Telfer). The role had previously been played by two sets of twins, most recently by Amelia Hileman and Kennedy Hileman.
Nero parents made the announcement by posting on her personal Instagram page, "It's Angelica's 5th birthday today! 🎉🥳 On this magical day, we have some news to share! Angelica is joining the cast of "Days of Our Lives" ✨
Catch her debut tomorrow as Victoria - the daughter of Sarah and Xander 🤍 on Days of Our Lives on Peacock."
In addition to acting, Nero also began receiving formal music training at the age of two and started sharing viral performance videos on social media by the age of three.
Her covers of Let it Be by Paul McCartney and child-friendly rendition of Abracadabra by Lady Gaga both went viral and were reposted and shared by the respective artist.
Nero's co-star Cherie Jimenez who plays Gabi Hernandez reacted in the comments, writing, "YAY!!! We love you so much ✨⏳ You're a star 🌟"
Victoria's storyline has been complicated from birth in 2023. Sarah had just returned to Salem for the funeral of Victor Kirakis (John Aniston), where she gave birth with the help of Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder). The baby was named Victora Margaret after her grandparents Victor and his wife Maggie Kirakis- Horton (Suzanne Rogers).
Initially, Victoria's paternity was kept a secret, with Rex listed as her father on the birth certificate. However, after Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) overheard Rex admit the truth, she told Xander prompting a confrontation with Sarah.
After many twist and turns, Sarah and Xander ultimately agreed to co-parent their daughter.
The latest casting opens the door for a new phase for the character.
Days of Our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock.
