‘Survivor 50' Star Christian Hubicki Reveals Truth About Mike White Drama

"Survivor" contestant Christian Hubicki is finally talking about where things stand with Mike White after one of the most talked-about moves of "Survivor 50."

Hubicki, 40, revealed that White, 55, has not spoken to him since filming wrapped last July after he voted the "White Lotus" filmmaker out of the game. According to Hubicki, he later reached out with an apology but never heard back.

"I basically said, ‘Look, Mike, I totally understand you feel hurt. This was not the part of some grand plan,’" Hubicki shared to Page Six in an interview published on Thursday, April 23.

The two previously competed together on "Survivor: David vs. Goliath" in 2018 alongside Angelina Keeley. In that season, Hubicki was ultimately voted out while White and Keeley advanced to the final three. This time around, though, Hubicki switched it up by helping send both White and Keeley home in back-to-back tribal councils.

"It was just a really bad situation where I had to choose: who do I go with?" he explained. "And ultimately getting rid of Mike separated Ozzy and Angelina so they wouldn't work together. It was all to defuse the target at the merge."

Hubicki admitted the decision was especially difficult because White is known as a major fan of the franchise. "For all the wonderful things he's done in his life. I know he also deeply cares about this show," he said to the outlet. "So taking that away from him, I knew it would hurt, but I could not march into the merge a dead man on his behalf. That's all it was."

Even so, Hubicki says there is no bad blood on his end. "The whole thing takes a while to process and so I don't blame him," he said. "But my phone is always open to him if he ever wants to talk about it."
