PHOTO: American Idol's Bo Bice Is Unrecognizable After Major Lifestyle Changes

Bo Bice, the runner-up from season 4 of American Idol, rocked the stage with his signature long hair in 2005.

Two decades after coming in second behind country superstar Carrie Underwood, Bice has re-emerged with a shocking new look.

"I've been off the grid for way too long now. Nothing much I wanted, cared or was motivated to share for a good bit as I was shaping up my body, mind & spirit," Bice, now 50, shared alongside a selfie on Wednesday, April 22.

The "Inside Your Heaven" artist explained what he's done to achieve his youthful look, including dental work, weight loss and ditching the long locks.

"Out of pain and embarrassment of my broken failing teeth due to years of Crohn's issues, Stomach Acid eating away at my enamel and Stomach Surgeries changing my palate and septum," he wrote. "Lost 89lbs, so I can move around like I use to on stage and feel better, sharper and stronger from the lighter weight."

Bice continued, "Cut the hair from tail length to the short haired country boy look again. A lot lighter and I'm saving on shampoo & conditioner."

He also cut back caffeinated beverages from his daily routine, instead reaching for water and fresh juices.

"No drinking, no drugs, body clean from everything but natural God grown remedies," he wrote. "Back into a comfortable and healthy lifestyle, 50 feels better than any other decade I experienced yet."

The Alabama native is ready to get back to performing and has been writing new music.

"The faucet is in full flow again and inspiration has returned to well," he shared. "Does anyone still want to hear from an old wolf who's long in the tooth and short on worries Let's see what 2027 has in store for ole BB and the Bo-Peeps."
