Guy Fieri Drops ‘Tournament of Champions' News After ‘PTSD' Remark

Guy Fieri may have just given Food Network fans the update they were hoping for.

As "Tournament of Champions" wrapped its seventh season, viewers were already wondering whether the hit cooking competition would return. While Food Network has not officially announced a renewal, Fieri, 58, appeared to strongly hint that Season 8 is already in the cards.

During the finale on Sunday, April 19, after praising runner-up Kevin Lee, Fieri told him, "Chef Kevin Lee - heart, determination, hard work, drive, fight, all of it, packaged into one. What an incredible achievement. I know without a doubt you will be back for Season 8. I look forward to seeing you in competitions in the future."

The comment quickly caught fans' attention, as it seemed to be a clear indication that the high-stakes series could be returning next spring.

The reveal came just days after Fieri opened up about how intense the competition really gets behind the scenes. Appearing on Rob Lowe's podcast, Fieri described the experience as far more emotionally charged than a standard cooking battle.

"You gotta really have a backbone about you. You gotta really have truth and belief in yourself to go and do this because it’s scary," he said. "People get PTSD from this," Fieri added. "It’s gnarly, gnarly, gnarly."

He went on to describe what happens once the cameras stop rolling: "Tears, holes in the wall, kicked over things, people getting pissed, people getting happy … people finding their higher power,. It’s a gamut of emotions that goes on.”

Despite the pressure cooker environment, Fieri said hosting the show remains one of the most rewarding parts of his career. "For me, it’s really a chance to celebrate the people that I love and I respect and I admire," he shared.

So while an official announcement may still be pending, Fieri's latest comments suggest the kitchen chaos is far from over.
