‘Days of Our Lives' Unveils First Look at a New Generation for the ‘House of DiMera'
The DiMera family has been a central presence on Days of Our Lives since their debut in 1981. With the family's latest addition, Conner Floyd as Chad DiMera, joining the soap on April 21, gave fans a first look at the updated "House of DiMera" in a post on social media.
Floyd shared a photo on Instagram taken on the DiMera living room set. The image features a portrait of the family's late patriarch, Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo), prominently displayed at the center.
The backrow of the photo included Kristen Blake-DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), Stefano's adopted daughter and Tony's ex-wife, Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) the last original member of the family, and Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) the widow of Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).
The front row included Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews), E.J. DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), and Chad DiMera (Floyd).
In the comment section, Floyd's costars joined in the celebration. Paul Telfer (Xander Kirakis) shared, "Booooooooo!" To which Floyd responded, "hate us cause they ain't us." Casey Moss (J.J. Deveraux) added "Power", with Andrews added, "Familia👑"
Throughout their time on the series, the DiMera family has been at the center of many of Days of Our Lives' most iconic storylines, from Andre DiMera's (Thaao Penghlis) involvement in the Salem Slasher arc to Stefano's long running rivalries with Salem residents. The family's mix of power, romance, and drama has kept fans engaged for decades.
Floyd recently stepped into the role of Chad DiMera, taking over from Billy Flynn. Flynn exited the role in early 2025, though due to the show's advance filming schedule, his final scenes aired on February 17, 2026. Following his departure, Flynn joined fellow Sony soap opera The Young and the Restless as Cane Ashby.
Floyd, meanwhile, previously appeared on The Young and the Restless, where he portrayed Chance Chancellor, before joining Days of Our Lives as Chad.
Floyd makes his debut as Chad DiMera on April 21, 2026.
