How Caroline Kennedy Reacted to ‘Love Story,' According to Jack Schlossberg

Caroline Kennedy isn't losing sleep over FX's "Love Story." In fact, she's laughing about it.

Her son, Jack Schlossberg, shared that Caroline had a pretty unexpected reaction after seeing a scene inspired by her life. Speaking on the Wednesday, April 15 episode of Katie Couric's "Next Question" podcast, Schlossberg revealed he showed his mom a clip from the Hulu series-and her reaction was priceless.

"I showed her a clip of her, and we were laughing so hard," Schlossberg, 33, said. "The [actor] was freaking out and we're just laughing so hard as if that's how my mom acts … it might be entertaining but it's fiction."

Still, Schlossberg acknowledged the continued fascination with his late uncle, John F. Kennedy Jr. "I want to be clear that [I have] no problem with anyone who liked the show or watched it. I'm glad," he said. "My uncle John was so cool, and it's not surprising that people, once they remember who he was, want to dress like him and be like him. He was awesome."

He continued, noting the similarities in both his current campaign and his uncle's: "He tried to blend politics and media in his time just like how I'm trying to do right now."

Where he draws the line, however, is in how the series portrays the people behind the headlines.

"My issue is we have a lot of serious problems facing our country and my family, we're not just celebrities, we're not just icons. These are public servants," he stated. "To fictionalize and to sensationalize [JFK Jr.'s] romantic life without giving any credence to the serious things that he did."

When Couric stated that it must've been frustrating to witness this show paint an inaccurate picture of his family, Schlossberg quipped, "whatever, who cares. It's a stupid show."

The show, produced by Ryan Murphy, centers on John F. Kennedy Jr. and his relationship with Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, telling the story of their romance leading up to their tragic deaths in a 1999 plane crash. While the series pulls from real-life figures, Schlossberg made it clear viewers shouldn't take everything at face value.
