Work has started and is expected to be complete in 2027.

The project is adding a second tower which will feature 214 rooms across 10 stories. Other new amenities include a 15,000-square-foot multi-purpose convention center that can seat up to 1,500 for live events and a new restaurant with banquet kitchen facilities.

The new tower will double the current room count to more than 400. The original Courtyard Hotel was cleared to accommodate the expansion.

Wildhorse, off Interstate 84 east of Pendleton, is a major economic initiative of the Umatilla.

Offerings include two 18-hole golf courses, a casino with more than 1,100 slot machines as well as table games, a movie theater, bowling, an arcade and an RV park.

It is one of two tribal casinos flanking the Tri-Cities.

Wildhorse is about 90 minutes to the southeast.

The Yakama Nation operates Legends Casino in Toppenish, about 70 minutes to the west. .

The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation are pursuing regulatory approval to create a tribal gaming resort in Pasco, near King City.

Surf Thru Express in Pasco

Surf Thru Express has opened the first of three car washes planned in the Tri-Cities.

The Pasco Surf Thru opened May 28 with free car washes, deals on monthly passes and an ongoing food drive to benefit Second Harvest.

Ribbon cutting festivities are set for 2 p.m., June 10. The car wash is at 4621 Convention Place, near the HAPO Center. Prices start at $11 for a basic car wash. Monthly passes start at $25.

A second Surf Thru is being built at 624 S. Ely St., off Highway 395 in Kennewick and a third has been proposed for 2200 Columbia Park trail in Richland.

New escape room

Julianne Wright, owner of Atomic Escape Rooms, has opened the latest expansion, Rock Lane Island, at 1333 Tapteal Drive, Suite 102, in Richland.

The escape room is available for bookings from 4-8 p.m., Monday-Thursday, 4-9 p.m., Friday, noon-10 p.m., Saturday, and noon-8 p.m., Sunday.
