Rockhounds rejoice. Bigger gem show coming to Kennewick fairgrounds
The annual Lakeside Gem & Mineral Club show is coming to the Benton County Fairgrounds and it has almost doubled in size.
The 28th annual Gem Show is April 26-27 in Building 2 at the Benton County Fairgrounds, 1500 S. Oak St., Kennewick.
The venue is nearly twice the size of the prior building.
The family-friendly event features exhibits of gems, minerals, rocks and fossils for display and for purchase. There are also presentations on how to create a sphere from solid rock, cracking geodes and jewelry making.
The Junior Rockhound group will host a corner where kids can hunt for treasure and win prizes.
Show hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children under 14 when they’re with an adult.
