2016 Best Fine Dining & Best Seafood: Anthony's Restaurants

Local vegetables, Washington wines, sophisticated dishes and a riverfront view make Anthony’s at Columbia Point a fine dining, seafood establishment that’s hard to beat.

Known for its fresh, wild-raised fish, the first Anthony’s Restaurant opened in Bellevue in 1969. The company searches for locations on the water and found the perfect location in the Tri-Cities: adjacent to Richland’s Marina Park and overlooking the Columbia River. The Richland restaurant opened in 2004.

Mike Tvedt, general manager of Anthony’s at Columbia Point, said the Richland location also has the added benefit of being within driving distance of farms and wineries ready to put the freshest options on the menu. Tvedt said the Richland location is the only restaurant in the Anthony’s family to feature fresh, local asparagus this spring.

“We have spent years cultivating relationships with farmers in the Tri-Cities. We always use the best product that we can,” Tvedt said. “What’s made us successful as a company is always looking for the finest quality, local product for our restaurants.”

The menu also includes all Washington wines, except for the Oregon pinot noir, and signature items like chargrilled salmon with tomato basil butter. While the menu prices reflect the fine dining atmosphere, the restaurant is also offering sunset dinners from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The $21.95 meal includes an appetizer, chowder or salad, an entrée and dessert.

To keep its menu offerings at their peak, the restaurant receives a delivery of fresh fish four times a week, courtesy of Anthony’s Restaurants’ wholesale seafood division. While most Anthony’s locations – Columbia Point included – thrive on salmon and halibut, the Richland location also serves more than its share of a wild, freshwater fish.

“One item that we can’t seem to keep in is sturgeon. Other restaurants in our company don’t sell as much of it, but people in the Tri-Cities can’t get enough of it,” Tvedt said. “I love it.”
